Poetry Reading Scheduled
Linda Andrews and Dan Lamberton will give a joint poetry reading on
Tuesday afternoon, November 6, at 3 p.m., in the Clearwater Room of the Williams
Conference Center, on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College.
Andrews' poems have appeared widely in journals and magazines. She has received the
Richard Blessing Award, an Academy of American Poets Prize, and the Ucross Foundation
Fellowship. Her book of poems, Escape of the Bird Women, received a 1999 Washington State
Governor's Award. She has worked as a speechwriter and editor in the health care field and
in this capacity has been published in several professional periodicals, including The New
England Journal of Medicine. She teaches English at Walla Walla College.
Dan Lamberton's poems have appeared in Poetry Northwest, Northern Lights, Sojourners, and
many other journals. He chairs the Humanities Department at Walla Walla College where he
teaches creative writing and the literature of the American West. He also teaches in the
University of Washington's Teachers as Scholars program, and for the past two years has
lectured extensively on Theodore Roethke for the Washington Commission on the Humanities.
The reading is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a reception and book
signing.
