Nathan Peterson Assumes Role as High School Relations Counselor

Nathan Peterson, a native of Rexburg, Idaho, has just been named Lewis-Clark State College’s High School Relations Counselor. Peterson’s primary responsibility is to work with high schools students as they decide where to go to college. While his office is located in Lewiston, Peterson will also be working with students from Brigham Young University-Idaho opting for four-year majors not offered there. He assumed the post in December after spending six months as an interim counselor at LC’s Lewiston campus.

Peterson was born in Rexburg and attended public schools in Ririe. He graduated from Ririe High School in 1993 and attended Ricks College for one year, before serving a mission in Argentina, South America. In 1996, Peterson returned to Rexburg and finished his associate degree at Ricks in 1997. The following year, he enrolled at Lewis-Clark State College, where he majored in Communication Arts and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in May of 2000.

Peterson’s academic career at Lewis-Clark State College has included serving as the president of the student body, captain of the LCSC Speech and Debate Team, and member of the LCSC Ambassador Society. "Lewis-Clark State College provided me with the opportunity to progress and prepared me for a successful future," Peterson said. "I’m honored to represent the college and tell people about the difference LCSC can make for them."

Lewis-Clark State College has a long association with Ricks College through its Rexburg-based teacher education program. There are nearly 100 Ricks transfer students currently enrolled in the Rexburg and Lewiston programs.

Peterson and his wife, Kristin, make their home in Lewiston. She is finishing her degree at LCSC and Nathan is preparing to start a master’s program. His office is located on the Lewis-Clark State College campus, in the Admissions Office in Reed Hall. He can be reached at 1-800-933-5272, p.m. weekdays.
