LCSC Nursing Graduate to
Manage Intensive Care Unit at Pullman Memorial Laure' Nelson, a graduate of Lewis-Clark State College's nursing program, has been selected as the new intensive care unit nurse manager at Pullman Memorial Hospital. Larson previously worked at Lewiston's St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, caring for both children and adults in the hospital's intensive unit. Including her ten years at St. Joseph's, Larson has logged thirteen years in nursing. Nurses are in high demand regionally and throughout the nation. LCSC nursing division graduates are recruited heavily by local and regional colleges, and demand is expected to continue to outstrip the supply of qualified nurses. Nursing Division Chair, Dr. Donna Brandmeyer noted that the nursing field has changed substantially over the years: "Nursing is so much more than bed pans!" LCSC nursing graduates scored a 95.8% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nursing. |
