Students Return to Campus: Fall Semester Kicks Off with Orientation, Welcome Fair, Other Events
Lewis Clark State College welcomed students back to campus with an assortment of events designed to inform and entertain students and their family members or partners.
Monday, August 20th saw new students arriving on campus, receiving their registration materials, getting tours of the campus and L-C Valley, and meeting with Academic and Technical/Professional Division personnel. Attendees were treated to a BBQ lunch and invited to dinner with LCSC President Dene Kay Thomas.
For the second day of orientation--dubbed Warriorientation--students could choose from numerous workshop sessions, to learn about anything from study skills, to diversity, to "Math Hatred and Math Anxiety: Strategies for Success."
Wednesday marked the start of classes and included the Welcome Fair, with booths and tables from campus and community organizations, clubs and local vendors on the campus quadrant. Once again, the weather was perfect for outdoor browsing and visiting, and the BBQ provided by campus Dining Services. The Reggae band Cannon Lion of Judah provided music in the Amphitheater near the Student Union Building.
The week rounds out with miniature golf, an outdoor movie (Thursday), a jet boat ride and beach party (Friday), and a co-ed volleyball tournament (Saturday).
