Warriorientation - New Student Orientation

Warriorientation starts Sunday, Aug 19 with Mov'N Activities for new students planning to live in the residence halls. Orientation Assistants (OAs) will be available to help students move into residence hall rooms. OAs are LCSC faculty and students. Social activities planned for the evening will help students, parents and faculty get better acquainted. Orientation is required for all new LCSC students.

On Monday, Aug 20, at 8:00 a.m., all new students, their parents or partners, will check in and pay a $20 per student orientation fee at the Williams Conference Center, before attending the Welcome Session at 9:00 a.m. Breakfast breads and drinks will be offered and each new student will receive a LCSC Warriorientation T-shirt.

At 10:00 a.m., parents and partners will be escorted to the Silverthorne Theatre for a special orientation session, designed specifically for them, while new students attend a small group session geared to students' needs and questions. Each small group session will be lead by a LCSC faculty member and student OA. Students will learn more about LCSC services and requirements through get-acquainted mixers, informative presentations, and question-and-answer sessions.

At noon, everyone is invited to the Warriorientation BBQ, located in the fountain area on campus. Cost for the BBQ is included in the student orientation fee. Attendance should be confirmed by RSVP with the Office of Student Life.

At 1:00 p.m., each division will host an informational session and activities to introduce their programs, campus role and course offerings. Students and parents are invited to attend as many division sessions as they wish. Students may also make changes to their class schedules by adding & dropping classes as necessary.

During the afternoon free time, tours of the campus and Lewiston-Clarkston valley are available.

The day will culminate with Dinner with the President. Students, parents and partners are invited to a dinner hosted by President Dene Thomas. Again, cost for the dinner is included in the $20 student orientation fee; however, reservations are required to address meal and seating accommodations.

Tuesday, August 21, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, information sessions and workshops will continue. All new students will have received a discount coupon for lunch, which will be provided at noon in the Student Union Building. Following lunch, additional faculty/student activities will be available.

To make reservations for Warriorientation, or ask questions, attendees are asked to call the Office of Student Life at 208-792-2211.
