Idaho teacher scholarships are available for Symposium
Scholarship applications are now being accepted from Idaho state certified teachers who would like to take part in the 9th Annual Lewis & Clark Symposium, which will be held June 21-22 at Lewis-Clark State College.

The Symposium is a collaborative effort involving LCSC, the Nez Perce Tribe, national scholars, teachers, artisans, and local history experts who will jointly share their knowledge of history and ethnology.
There are 50 scholarships available for teachers, made possible by the Idaho Governor’s Lewis and Clark Trail Committee, to attend the Symposium as well as a one-day Teacher Workshop on June 20.
In the workshop, faculty from the LCSC Education Division will present strategies for addressing state-required standards, particularly in history and diversity. This will assist teachers in improving local and regional cross-cultural understanding.
Scholarship recipients will have their Workshop and Symposium registration paid for and will receive travel stipends, complimentary course materials, on-campus lodging and (most) meals.
Idaho certified teachers will have the option to register for 1 or 2 in-service credits for a fee.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee, which will strive to distribute the scholarships throughout the state and across the spectrum of grade levels taught.
Symposium activities will include a field trip, cultural demonstrations, traditional Nez Perce perspectives, historical overviews and informative lectures by national and regional historians.
