LCSC DEC students to compete at state meet

Eleven Lewis-Clark State College students will be competing in the Delta Epsilon Chi's (DEC) Idaho State Career Development Conference on Thursday-Saturday in Boise.

Students attending the Career Development Conference will participate in workshops and seminars designed to develop participants management awareness and skills. They will also compete in management events of three categories: business simulations, case studies, and prepared presentations.

The competitive events allow students to compare their skills and learning with other students and to practice their management skills in these various activities. Jim Bowen, professor of Business Management in the Business Technology and Services Division, is the adviser for the LCSC students.

Students from five Idaho colleges will attend the conference: Boise State University, Idaho State University, Eastern Idaho Technical College, College of Southern Idaho, and LCSC.

The students who place in the top three in their events will attend the Delta Epsilon Chi International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., on April 21-24. Historically, Lewis-Clark State College and the Idaho chapter have competed very well against the larger states and colleges.
