Vigil wil be held tonight to honor VT victims

The Associated Students of Lewis-Clark State College will hold a candlelight vigil on Monday at 8 p.m. at Centennial Mall on campus as part of a state-wide student observance of the shooting incident that took place at Virginia Tech earlier this week. The public is invited to attend and participate

The ASLCSC organization will honor the victims of the terrible incident near the Lewis and Clark statue area in the center of campus. Students at college and universities in Idaho will hold similar vigils on Monday.

The event begins at 8 p.m. with an opening prayer by Bill Hayne, followed by comments from LCSC President Dene K. Thomas and LCSC student body president Cody Bloomsburg. Lewiston mayor Jeff Nesset also is scheduled to make comments.

Those in attendance will light candles and there will be a moment of silence. The vigil wraps up with a closing prayer by Hayne.

For more information on the vigil, contact Myndie VanHorn in the ASLCSC/Student Activities office at 792-2256.
