LCSC to hold Senior Research Symposium on May 9-10
Lewis-Clark State College will hold its first LCSC Senior Research Symposium on May 9-10 at the Williams Conference Center on the LCSC campus.
The Symposium features LCSC seniors in a number of disciplines either giving oral or poster presentations. This is the first multidisciplinary research symposium for LCSC students in the school’s modern era.
The mission of the symposium is to enhance student academic achievement, professional development and award research excellence by providing the opportunity for students to present their research in symposium and the opportunity to publish their research for students, faculty, staff, stakeholders and the community through an online research journal forum. The online journal is the Student Research Excellence Journal.
Symposium organizers are expecting more than 600 people to present during the two-day event, which is free and open to the public. The event runs approximately 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.
LCSC President Dene K. Thomas and Provost J. Anthony Fernandez will open the symposium at 9 a.m. on May 9. Dean of Student Services Andrew Hanson, Dean for Academic Programs Christine Pharr, and LCSC Social Sciences professor Rhett Diessner will be among the keynote speakers.

LCSC programs participating in the event include Business, Communication, Chemistry, Geographical Information Systems, Kinesiology, Natural Science, Nursing & Health Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, and Social Sciences.
