Public input meeting on nursing building
Lewis-Clark State College will hold a public input meeting to discuss the college’s new Nursing & Health Sciences building project, including possible sites for the new facility, on Monday, May 21, at 6 p.m. in the Telecommunications Classroom located in the LCSC library.
College administrators say they are looking as possible sites on or immediately adjacent to the campus, but would like to hear from the public on where they think the building should go.
College officials shared the area of impact and future growth with residents prior to the construction of College Place, a residence hall that was built by private developers on Fourth Street across from the LCSC campus.
LCSC officials, including President Dene K. Thomas and Vice President for Administrative Service Chet Herbst, will have the area of impact map at the meeting and will take suggestions from the public on where they would like the building located. Those suggestions will then be presented to the architects of the building to help in the decision process.
The Idaho Legislature approved a $16.1 million Nursing & Health Sciences building for LCSC during its last session. Construction on the building is expected to begin this fall.
