DNHS fills fills five faculty positions
All vacant DNHS faculty positions have been filled, Nursing & Health Sciences Division Chair Lori Stinson. Stinson says the new colleagues are delightful individuals who bring a wealth of clinical experience to the division. Most will be on campus August 21 for orientation.
The new LCSC employees are:
Krista Ellis, BSN, RN, Instructor/Clinical Resource Center Coordinator (Skills Lab). Krista is a 2005 graduate of LCSC’s BSN program, Lewiston campus. She plans to enroll in a nursing master’s program very soon. She currently works at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in the intensive care, telemetry and medical-surgical units.
Beverly Kloepfer, BSN, RN, Assistant Professor (Practical Nursing). Beverly is a 2007 graduate of LCSC’s BSN program, Lewiston campus. She has more than 20 years of nursing experience. Bev plans to enroll in a nursing master’s program this year. She is currently a staff nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Elizabeth Scarano, BSN, RN, Visiting Assistant Professor (BSN Program). Liz earned her BSN at Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is enrolled in Master of Science in Nursing program at Gonzaga University, nurse educator track. Liz also works part time at St. Mary’s hospital in Cottonwood.
Rebecca Syverson, BSN, RN, Visiting Assistant Professor (BSN Program). Becky earned her BSN at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. She is eager to enroll in a Master’s in nursing program. Becky currently works at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.
Sharon Strand, MSN, RN, Associate Professor & Coeur d’Alene Outreach Coordinator (RN to BSN Track). Sharon earned her BSN at California State, Long Beach and her MSN from California State, Dominguez Hills. She has been involved in various aspects of nursing education since 1988. Her most recent educational experience is from Boise State University where she taught for 9 years. Sharon’s areas of interest are pediatrics and public/community health. She has been involved in research projects and has a number of publications in there areas. Sharon recently relocated to the Sandpoint, Idaho area. Scott Wimer, BS, RT (ARRT certified), Visiting Assistant Professor (Radiography). Scott earned is A.S. in Radiographic Science from LCSC in 2005 and his BS in Biology with a minor in Zoology from the University of Idaho in 2003. Scott works at TriState Memorial Hospital as a PACS Administrator/Radiology Technologist II. He will assist with site visits of first and second year radiography student.
Mary Lou Robinson (Committee Chair), Victor White, Debbie Lemon, & Lynne Bidwell were the members of the search committee.
Stinson also says the division has advertised for both the Administrative Assistant I positions on the Lewiston and Coeur d’Alene campuses.
