LCSC professors to show their documentary on Tibet

Lewis-Clark State College Humanities professors Patricia Keith and Sean Cassidy will show their documentary “Tibet: A Light in the Darkness” on Friday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. in the LCSC Silverthorne Theatre as part of a fundraiser for the LCSC International Scholarship Fund.

Tickets for the event are $10 for the general public or $2 for LCSC students. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the LCSC Student Union Building or at the door on Friday night.

The film takes a look at the struggle of the people of Tibet to preserver their culture and history. The original work was developed into a short film to raise money for blind children in Tibet, but the filmmakers returned to Tibet to learn more about the country. The result is a feature-length film that explores many regions seldom seen by travelers.

Keith and Cassidy will meet the public and be available for answering questions after the film is shown. Prior to the showing of the film at 6:30 p.m., LCSC international students will serve international hors d¹oeuvres from various regions and meet with the public on the lawn adjacent to the LCSC Administration Building, where the LCSC Silverthorne Theatre is located.

For more information on the evening or the documentary, contact Keith at either pkeith@lcsc.edu or at (208) 792-2292.
