Picture framing and picking wines highlight CECE offerings
LCSC Continuing Education & Community Events’ Fall 2007/Winter 2008 Personal Enrichment catalog offers more than 70 LC Valley classes with 20 new titles. A full listing of classes is available on the web at www.lcsc.edu/ce.
Classes are offered in a variety of subjects covering Arts & Crafts, Computers, Cooking, Dance & Music, Day Trips & Recreation, Family & Life, Finance, Health & Fitness, Home & Garden, Language & Culture, Personal Focus, and Photography.
Upcoming learning opportunities include Picture Framing & Matting by Donna Dickeson of Art & Frame by D&J. The two-day course will be held November 5 & 7 and costs $89. Participants will learn about selecting and cutting the proper mat and backing materials, mounting, framing and finishing your piece. Cost of the class includes individualized instruction and all materials excepting a frame and glass as prices vary widely. Minors 14 & up are welcome to attend.
Also coming is Wines to Dine for by Chef Bill Jollymore of Red Lion Hotel. The one-day class will be held November 6 and costs $40. Jollymore will share his knowledge and enthusiasm in pairing the right wine with holiday foods. Enjoy light hors D’oeuvres and sample wines from across the country. Adults 21 & older welcome.
