Miss Navajo will show on Nov. 5

LCSC Continuing Education & Community Events, in partnership with ITVS (Independent Television Series) Community Cinema and PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), will show "Miss Navajo" on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the LCSC Library TCC room.

The showing is part of a series of 8 Independent Lens documentary film previews that are free and open to the public. The films are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Mondays in the LCSC Library TCC room and will be followed by moderated discussions.

"Miss Navajo." directed by Billy Luther and Fenton Bailey, is a unique celebration of womanhood that follows young Navajo women in their quest for the Miss Navajo Nation crown. Pageant contestants showcase not only their beauty, but also their skills in music, cooking, and cultural knowledge including fluency in the Navajo language.

Post-film discussion will be facilitated by Angel Sobotta.
