Two LCSC volleyball players receive honors

BILLINGS, Mont. – Two volleyball players from Lewis-Clark State College were honored by the Frontier Conference as Players of the Week on Tuesday.

Anile Clemente, a 5-foot-11 sophomore outside hitter from Sorocaba, Sao Paolo, Brazil, and Lindsay Scott, a 5-8 junior from Kennewick, Wash., both received conference honors for their play in two matches last week.

Clemente was named the Player of the Week after collecting 28 kills, 16 digs, two service aces and four block assists last week when the Warriors lost to No. 8 College of Idaho, but bounced back to defeat No. 11 Westminster, both on the road, to move into a tie for first place in the conference standings.

Scott was chosen as the Libero of the Week. She finished with 36 digs, an average of 5.14 per game, and also had a service ace.

The setter of the week was Hailey Pearce of Rocky Mountain.

The Warriors wrap up the home portion of their schedule this week when they play host to Rocky Mountain at 7 p.m. on Friday and then take on Carroll College at noon on Sunday.
