LCSC nursing students score way above national average

Graduates from the Lewis-Clark State College Nursing & Health Science Division proved the quality of education they received by scoring way above the national average on the National Council Licensure Examinations, according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

The pass rates of LCSC Practical Nursing students taking the test from Oct. 2006-Sept. 2007 was a perfect 100 percent, while the pass rate for students in the LCSC Bachelor of Science in Nursing program during the same time was 94 percent.

The national average for pass rate of the PN examination is 89 percent, while the pass rate for the BSN examination is 85 percent.

The examination tests the entry level nursing competence of candidates for licensure as registered nurses and as licensed practical nurses.

Also, all LCSC May 2007 graduates who received an Associate’s Degree in Radiographic Science pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) exam. ARRT is the world's largest credentialing organization that seeks to ensure high quality patient care in radiologic technology through testing and certification of technologists. The National average for 2006 was 90.5 percent.
