LCSC Christmas play opens Nov. 29

Lewis-Clark State College’s Mainstage Theatre presents a lively collection of humorous and heartfelt stories and songs of the Christmas season in its production of “Uh Oh Here Comes Christmas” on Nov. 29-Dec. 2 and Dec. 6-8 at the LCSC Silverthorne Theatre.

Show times are at 7:30 p.m., except for Dec. 2, which has a matinee time of 2 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for non-LCSC students with student ID cards, and free for LCSC student with ID cards and for children under 12. Tickets are sold at the door.

The play begins with Scrooge comically lamenting his lot in the Christmas story. Every year he ends up dancing around like a simpleton. Following this humorous opening, individual narratives reveal the holiday season as seen through the eyes of children, the whole exhausting mess of Christmas materialism as well as the simple magical gifts of kindness, hope and beauty that this holiday ultimately brings to anyone willing to accept it.

The play was conceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia and David Caldwell, and music and lyrics are by Caldwell. The play is directed by Agatha Gibbons.
