Free fraud seminar will be held at LCSC on Aug 19
08-04-08
As part of Fraud Awareness Week, Richard Clifford of CA Financial Services of Lewiston and Eric Peterson, a Lewiston attorney, will conduct a free one-hour fraud seminar on Aug. 19 at 7-8 p.m. in the Telecommunications Classroom inside the library building at Lewis-Clark State College.
The seminar will show how individuals and families can protect themselves from fraud. Clifford will focus on investment fraud, while Peterson will speak about the legal aspects of fraud.
With Idaho Gov. Butch Otter signing a proclamation declaring Fraud Awareness Week on Aug. 18-22, the Idaho Department of Insurance is holding free seminars across the state to promote anti-fraud education, raise awareness about the impact of fraud and white-collar crimes on society, and encourage Idaho residents to report fraud to the appropriate authorities.
For more information on the seminar, contact either Tricia Carney, Public Information Specialist with the Idaho Department of Insurance at (208) 334-4312 or at tricia.carney@doi.idaho.gov or Karen Schmidt of LCSC’s Continuing Education & Community Events at (208) 792-2116 or lcsym@lcsc.edu
