Life on Wheels brings in an estimated $120,000 to Valley

The Life on Wheels Conference, which was held for the first time at Lewis-Clark State College following the 4th of July holiday, drew approximately 200 attendees who spent an estimated $120,000 while here, according to an ecomonic impact formula used by the Destination Marketing Association.

The week-long conference at LCSC drew around 100 recreational vehicles, which is less than normal, but still good considering the price of gasoline and the cost of traveling across the country in an RV.

Deb Smith, Events & Tourism Coordinator with the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce, used the Destination Marketing Association's formula to show that the average person attending Life on Wheels spent approximately $560 during an average of a five-day stay.

The conference was one of four held in the Lewis-Clark Valley this summer that had an estimated economic impact of $929,160 for the Lewis-Clark Valley, according to Smith's figures.

The Life on Wheels conference at LCSC had a definite positive economic impact on the Lewis-Clark Valley.
