Meteor viewing will be Monday at Spalding
The Lewis-Clark State College Natural Sciences Division and the Nez Perce National Historic Park, in conjunction with the Lewiston Astronomy Society, will hold a viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower on Monday, Aug. 11, at the Visitor’s Center of the Park in Spalding at 8:30 p.m.
The viewing is free and opening to the public.
A short slide show with a discussion of meteors and cultural interpretation of stars will start at 8:30 a.m. After it becomes dark, viewing of shooting stars will take place in the parking lot and yard at the Visitor’s Center.
The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event.
