President Thomas won't pursue UI job
Lewis-Clark State College President Dene K. Thomas made a "Smart Choice" by announcing on Monday that she is not a candidate for the vacant University of Idaho president's job, saying that she was choosing LCSC again.
President Thomas has strong ties to UI and worked at the institution before becoming President at LCSC 7 1/2 years ago.
The UI job first came open about five years ago, but Thomas elected not to apply and stay at LCSC. She confirmed her commitment to LCSC again on Monday by announcing she is not interested in the UI job, which came open again when President White resigned last spring. Thomas received numerous calls from UI employees urging her to apply, but said LCSC is the place for her.
Thomas says she likes the direction LCSC is heading with enrollment continuing to climb and a new Nursing/Health Science Building scheduled to open next summer.
