Texas Hold'em tournament fundraiser for WAA

The Eagles Lodge in Clarkston will hold a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on Jan. 24 as a fundraiser for the Lewis-Clark State College Warrior Athletic Association.

The winner of the tournament will have a choice of having a paid seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker Tournament or $10,000 in cash, based on 200 entries into the tournament.

The Jan. 24 event has a $100 entry fee and a $100 add-on. The entry fee gives each person a $100 chip to play with while the add-on gives each entrant an additional $4,000 in chips. There also will be two additional re-buys allowed in the first hour, which are $100 apiece and worth $4,000 in chips apiece.

There will be two sessions of play, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a limit of 100 players at each session. The top 10 from each session advance to the final session in the evening. The final 10 players in the evening will be paid with the amounts depending on total entry fees.

Organizers say if both sessions fill early, a third session will be added on the evening of Jan. 23.

Also, for anyone eliminated early, there will be sit-and-go tournaments starting once at least 10 players have been eliminated.

The tournament meets all state law requirements and policies as dictated by the state of Washington.
