LCSC's DePeel wins Frontier Conference honor

Lewis-Clark State College junior point guard Nikki DePeel has been named the Frontier Conference’s Player of the Week, marking the second straight week a Warrior has won the honor.

DePeel, who is 5-foot-6 and from Richland, Wash., helped the Warriors to a pair of nonleague road wins over Frontier Conference teams. LCSC started the weekend by defeating Rocky Mountain 81-74 as DePeel tied for game-high honors with 22 points. She hit 7-of-12 shots from the field, including 3-of-6 at the 3-point line, and was 5-of-8 at the foul line. She also had two rebounds and two assists.

A night later, DePeel helped the Warriors defeat No. 23-ranked Carroll College 79-68 as she led the Warriors with 17 points, two assists and two steals.

For the two games, DePeel averaged 21.5 points and was 10-of-18 from the field and 13-of-17 at the foul line.

LCSC senior guard Kim Preston won the award the previous week.
