LCSC cross country teams have 10 runners honored
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Lewis-Clark State College cross country teams led the way with 10 athletes honored on the Academic All-Frontier Conference Cross Country teams, which were announced recently.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing, maintain a 3.0 grade point average, and participate in one half of the team’s events.
LCSC had seven female and three male runners earn honors, while Carroll College was next with nine. Rocky Mountain and Westminster had seven each.
Honored for the LCSC women were senior Rosa Bautista, a Communications major from Stanfield, Ore. Bautista graduated this spring and earned the President’s Award, the top honor given to a member of the graduating class.
LCSC had three juniors earn honors: Kyle Astle, a Kinesiology major from Shoshone, Idaho; Katja Loevslett, a Business major from Stavanger, Norway; and Lindsay Szybura, an Education major from Orting, Wash.
The three sophomores honored were Rachael Park from Lewiston, Jessie Gulsvig from Colorado Springs, Colo., and Casey Hampton of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. All three are Kinesiology majors.
On the men’s side for LCSC, two seniors and a sophomore received honors. The seniors are Mickael Sopel of Toulouse, France, a Business major, and Adrian Ramirez of Yakima, Wash., a Criminal Justice major. Also named to the squad was Chris McConnell, a Business major from Portland, Ore.
