Region II ISBDC workshops set for July

The Region II Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College is offering four workshops in July, including two on QuickBooks and one on “How to Start a Business Boot Camp.”

The two popular classes on QuickBooks, “QuickBooks – Getting Started” and “QuickBooks – Accounts Payable, Receivable and Other Record Keeping,” usually fill up fast so anyone interested should register early.

“QuickBooks – Getting Started” will be held July 14 at 6-9 p.m. in Room 12 of the LCSC Administration Building. The class will teach the basics of getting started with QuickBooks and show how to set up a company, work with lists, bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts. The class has a fee of $25 and will be taught by Judy Schumacher.

On the next night, July 15, the second QuickBooks class will be held. “QuickBooks – Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Other Record Keeping” will also be at 6-9 p.m. in Room 12 of the Administration Building. This class will show the basic setup of accounts receivable, accounts payable and other record keeping in QuickBooks. Attendees also will learn how to enter sales, receive payments, make deposits, enter and pay bills, set up inventory, and review reports. Schumacher again is the instructor and the class registration fee is $25.

“How to Start a Business Boot Camp” will be held July 13 at 6-9 p.m. in Room 12 of the Administration Building. The workshop will teach business feasibility, self-employment assessment, initial market research, start-up expenses, financial feasibility, choosing a business structure, obtaining finances, determining regulations, setting prices, creating marketing materials, and developing a business plan. The fee for the workshop is $10 and Randy Eriksen will be the instructor.

The final workshop, “Price Points – Beautiful Downtown Lewiston Series”, will be July 30 at 8-10 a.m. at Headmasters School of Hair Design, located at 602 Main St. in Lewiston. This workshop will cover how customers can perceive a similar level of value on similar items that have standard retail prices but vary slightly in wholesale costs.
