Mills voted as starter for Eastern League All-Star Game

Former Lewis-Clark State College baseball standout Beau Mills will start at first base for the Southern Division in Wednesday's Eastern League All-Star Game.

The All-Star Game features the top players in the Eastern League, which is at the Class AA level.

Mills plays for Akron, which is the Class AA team for the Cleveland Indians. The former first-round pick of the Indians is hitting .259 with 21 doubles, seven home runs and 47 RBI. In his last 10 games, he's hitting .333.

Mills struggled in May with a .234 batting average, but his .272 in June and is hitting .275 in July.

Mills was selected to the All-Star team through voting by fans.
