Health Professions Day is Friday

Students who are seniors and juniors at area Idaho and Washington high schools will be on the Lewis-Clark State College campus on Friday, Sept. 25, to take part in the annual Health Professions Day.

The event runs 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Williams Conference Center and allows students to explore the various career opportunities in the health professions.

The day begins with a welcome from LCSC Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Tony Fernandez. Jacob Hornby of the LCSC Natural Sciences Division, Lori Stinson, chair of the Nursing & Health Sciences Division, and Betsy VanClief, a professor in the Kinesiology Department, will follow and give an overview of the information sessions ahead.

Students will then take part in three half-hour session and then will have lunch at 11:45 a.m., which will include some drawings for prizes. A campus tour will follow at around 12:30 p.m.

Sessions that are being offered include advanced practice nursing, dental hygiene, dentistry, wellness coaching, nursing, pharmacy, physician, public health, radiography, sports medicine, strength/conditioning rehab, and veterinary medicine.

The event is sponsored by the Office of New Student Recruitment at LCSC.
