Art Under the Elms artist application deadline is Nov. 30
All artists looking to be a part of the 2012 Art Under the Elms, the signature event of the annual Dogwood Festival, will need to submit an application by Nov. 30, 2011.
Over 100 artists in the categories of hand-crafted ceramics, digital art, fiber, fine craft, glass, jewelry, metalwork, mixed media, painting, photography, woodworking and more are invited to attend this three-day event to be held next year on April 27-29.
Artists should apply through ZAPP, an online application management system, at www.zapplication.org. Artwork submitted through the system is then juried by five to seven anonymous jurors with professional knowledge of arts and the festival. No more than 120 artists are selected to participate overall, and each category is limited to allow for maximum exposure and sales.
Art Under the Elms (AUE) began in 1984 as a celebration of the arts in north central Idaho and has become one of the largest outdoor festivals in the state. In addition to over 100 of the region’s finest artists, the festival also includes live entertainment on two stages, an international food court, and a family fun fair. AUE is a major fundraiser for LCSC`s Continuing Education & Community Events.
The festival is known for its hospitality toward artists. AUE provides a hospitality tent with snacks, water and coffee; ample restrooms; RV parking; booth attendants; an artist networking dinner; and assistance with loading and unloading. The outdoor event takes place on the beautiful Lewis-Clark State College campus during typically mild weather while the dogwood trees are in bloom.
