Dogwood Festival to hold artwork contest for 2012 design

The annual Dogwood Festival of the Lewis-Clark Valley is offering a prize of $250 for the winning design concept to be used as part of the event`s 2012 marketing campaign. The deadline to submit artwork for the contest is Dec. 30, 2011.

Artists can submit their designs by emailing a digital image of the concept to the Dogwood Festival Office at cece@lcsc.edu. Artwork can also be sent on a disk or flash drive to: Dogwood Festival Office, 415 Main Street, Lewiston, Idaho, 83501.

There are no established design parameters, although the text, "2012 Dogwood Festival of the Lewis-Clark Valley" will be incorporated into the final design. Artists can choose to include this text in their pieces ahead of time, or simply have a Dogwood Festival graphic artist add the text at a later point.

The winning artwork, which will become the property of the Dogwood Festival, will appear on various marketing materials include the event website, t-shirts, posters, and catalogs. Last year`s artwork was designed by LCSC student Jestine Estes.

The Dogwood Festival is a series of events in April celebrating art, culture, and community. Next year the festival will celebrate its 28th year.
