Faculty and staff awards presented at LCSC ceremony

LEWISTON, Idaho - The Williams Conference Center was filled with Lewis-Clark State College faculty and staff Thursday for the Spring All-Campus Meeting and 2012 Employee Recognition Awards. LC President J. Anthony (Tony) Fernandez presided over the ceremony.

Kristy Roberts was the recipient of the Professional Staff Award for Excellence. Roberts is Director of Distance Learning. Judith Bittick received the Classified Employee of the Year award. Bittick is Volunteer Services Coordinator for the LC Service Corps in Boise. Tom Walker was the recipient of the Adjunct Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. Walker is an Adjunct Professor in Natural Science. Dr. Harold Crook received the President's Award for Excellence in Diversity and Cross-cultural Understanding. Crook is Professor of Nez Perce Language and English.

Three faculty members received the President's Award for Outstanding Teaching: Bob Thorson, Associate Professor in the Business Division, Dr. Misty Urban, Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing and Dr. Heather Van Mullem, Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Health.

LCSC Foundation President Mike Ripley presented the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation Award to Nancy Lee-Painter, Assistant Professor of Theatre.

Harold Crook presented the H.L. Talkington Faculty Achievement Award to. Dr. Gwen Taylor, Professor of Education and Literacy. Taylor is retiring faculty emeritus this year.

A total of 10 retiring faculty and staff members were recognized at the meeting.
