Constitution Day event planned at LCSC

The Lewis-Clark State College Social Sciences Division is planning a Constitution Day Event for Tuesday, September 18, at Sacajawea Hall Room 115, from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The entire community is invited.

As in previous years, LCSC is organizing the event to discuss and honor the U.S. Constitution. It is part of an annual series of events around the nation celebrating the signing of the American Constitution by the Constitutional Convention on September 17, 1787. This year a panel of LCSC professors - Dr. Brian Christenson (Associate Professor - Social Work Program); Dr. Chris Riggs (Associate Professor - History); Dr. Gene Straughan (Justice Studies Professor - Criminal Justice Programs; Dr. Richard Moore (Professor Emeritus - Political Science), Dr. Leif Hoffmann (Assistant Professor - Political Science) - will talk about the U.S. Constitution, Voter ID laws and the electoral franchise, followed by a discussion with the audience.

Over 30 states, including Idaho, have passed voter ID laws, and 30 states, including Idaho, have the laws in place for this coming November election.

Snacks will be served at the event.
