LCSC groups offer holiday help to those in need

Several efforts at Lewis-Clark State College this holiday season are offering help to families in need in the LC Valley.

The LCSC Spanish Club has adopted two local families for its "Feliz Navidad" drive. The families provide the club with a list of needs and a few gift ideas for the children and then the Spanish Club works to provide those items. There are a total of 7 children in the two families, ages 1-9. The club organized a Salsa Dance fundraiser for the effort where food and money was donated and donation jars are also set up in the LCSC Student Union Building.

Anyone wishing to help out with the project or seeking more information can contact Spanish Club advisor and Assistant Professor of Spanish Dr. David Wiseman at 208-792-2118 or dpwiseman@lcsc.edu The food, household items, and gifts will be delivered to the families on December 21.

Also taking place on the campus, LCSC Community Programs is conducting a food drive for the Lewiston-Clarkston YWCA through December 21. There have already been three deliveries of food to the YWCA. And Associated Students of LCSC recently held a bake sale to raise holiday help money and showed the film "Elf", where a can of food earned you a raffle ticket for a $50 Amazon gift card. The food collected and money raised will go to the Idaho Foodbank.
