Airlines
According to the Alaska and Delta websites, cash will no longer be
accepted for on-board purchases. Both Debit and Credit cards are
accepted.
Travelers are also experiencing fees associated with new rules on
checked baggage. Most airlines allow one carry-on plus a personal
item, which may include a laptop. For carry-on bags, the weight of
bag generally cannot be more than 40 lbs and not more than 45 inches
in total dimension (length plus width plus height). Checked luggage
must weigh 50 lbs or less and not be more than 62 inches in total
dimension. Additional fees are now being added for all checked bags.
Visit your airline’s website and note any new regulations prior to
travel. Obtain receipts for any baggage charges to support the
travel expense claim.
Mileage
Effective July 1, 2012, the State Board of Examiners have amended the official business state travel mileage rate to 55.5 cents per mile driven. This will make the state mileage rate reimbursement correspond with the current federal rate set by the Internal Revenue Service. The College will follow the state recommendation. The on-line travel form has been updated to automatically calculate the new mileage rate.[TOP] |
