Teacher
In-Service Guidelines
Community
Programs administers the Teacher In-Service
program under the direction of Jack Peasley. The
State Board of Education (SBOE) has enacted
policies which determine the administration of related fees and activities.
These include: |
- Students
participating in a Teacher in-Service course
must be a public school or other professional
employee of an Idaho school district.
|
- The credit awarded is
for professional development and cannot be
applied towards a degree program.
|
- The costs of
instruction are paid for by an entity other
than the institution.
|
- The course must be
approved by the appropriate academic unit(s)
at the institution.
|
| Fees for Teacher In-Service
courses are set annually by the SBOE at approximately 1/3
the regular rate for part-time credits. Because
the institution does not pay for instruction, this
allows for discounted rates for teachers.
Private school teachers and teachers from schools
outside of Idaho are not eligible for this discounted
fee. Students not eligible for the Teacher
In-Service rate, but who wish to participate in a Teacher
In- Service course, must enroll in a separate section and
pay the institution's regular part-time fee.
