Teacher Inservice Guidelines
Community Programs administers
the Teacher Inservice program under the
direction of Jack Peasley. The State Board
of Education has enacted policies which
determine our administration of the fees and
activities. These include:
- The student in a Teacher
Inservice course must be a public school
teacher or other professional employee of an
Idaho school district.
- The credit awarded is for
professional development and cannot be
applied towards a degree program.
- The costs of instruction
are paid for by an entity other than the
institution.
- The course must be
approved by the appropriate academic unit(s)
at the institution.
The fee for Teacher
Inservice courses is set annually by the
SBOE at approximately 1/3 the regular rate
for part-time credits. Because the
institution does not pay for instruction,
this allows for the discounted rate for
teachers. Private school teachers and
teachers from schools outside of Idaho are
not eligible for this discounted fee.
Students not eligible for the Teacher
Inservice rate, but who wish to participate
in a Teacher Inservice course, must enroll
in a separate section and pay the
institution’s regular part-time fee.
