Improving Awareness for
Maximum Performance

IDEAL PERFORMANCE STATE—“the perfect race”
    Remember how it felt
    Recall details
    What happened before
*with improved awareness you improve your chances to perform your best, ALWAYS.

What is Awareness?--It is knowing what is going on, realizing what’s happening and being conscious of your surroundings.
Lack of Awareness can cause underachievement and can cause poor judgement.

Awareness is lost when attention is placed on the end result!!!!!

The challenge is
    Keep in the present
    Deal with the next step
All the parts equal the whole
By doing this you are FOCUSED.

Focusing—thinking about the steps in the present.
You have to find out what makes you focus.
1. Know your strengths and weaknesses.
2. Find out, with help, if you perceive them accurately.
3. Use them in your racing and practice.

The general idea is
…set the goal…attempt the goal…evaluate the goal…adjust and repeat.

Learn about yourself—what pre-race stress is positive? Negative?
 Identify…eliminate…adjust.

Evaluate—The final ingredient to improving Awareness
Write a race journal…before and after.
Group discussion…talk, not just about the race, but pre-race too.

Once you become more aware of what is going on before and during the race you can become more of an optimal racer.
Add in a proper training system and you will SUCCEED.
