The “prize packages” were mentioned that are “new” this year (Ski trip to Brundage; Spa package at the Coeur d’Alene Resort; and many other incentives to attend the party). It should be a great Holiday party this year! Letter from Santa: Vikki talked about the ‘Letter From Santa’ fundraiser that has been coordinated between Julie Crea and Vikki Swift. It was kicked off on Monday, December 1st and we will charge $5 per letter that is sent out. We have had a few individuals purchase ‘Letters From Santa’ for their children. New Classified Staff Recognized: Vikki Swift announced all new classified employees / transfers / reclassifications that have occurred since the last meeting in September. A new fundraiser is currently being discussed. This entails a book/movie/music sale in January located in the SUB. We will charge $1.00 per item that is sold. A request for donations will go out early in January and the date of the sale will be firmed up at the next Recognition Committee Meeting. Santa’s Helpers: Janell Miller gave an update on Santa’s Helpers. There are currently 9 families that we are sponsoring, with the possibility of gaining 2 or 3 more. Last year we sponsored 14 families with a total of $1750 spent. Deadline to donate items or money is the week of December 8th. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY Patty provided information about the First Annual Professional Development Day that was held last April on campus. There were 114 in attendance, which included 44 persons from various organizations/businesses throughout the region. The overall comments from the attendees about the speakers and format of the seminar were very positive. There is currently $1054 in the Professional Development Day fund, which could be utilized to cover expenses for future seminars. We will contact members of the Professional Development Day Committee soon to schedule an organizational meeting to discuss a potential seminar in April 2004. You are welcomed and encouraged to join the Professional Development Day Committee! Respectfully submitted by Vikki Swift, HR Specialist, Human Resources |
