CLASSIFIED STAFF ORGANIZATION

Minutes:  Thursday, April 19, 2001

 

Vana Vernon, chair, welcomed everyone to the CSO meeting and luncheon.  There were approximately 50 members present.

 

Election of Officers

Karen Evans presented the nominations for new officers.  Ballots were distributed, votes counted, and elections results were:

                  Web Secretary                   Dawn Byers

                  Representatives                 Geralyn Seale (Academic Programs)

                                                      Lola Bartholomew (Office of Student Affairs)

 

Recognition Committee

Dawn Byers, chair of the recognition committee, presented flowers to the current CSO officers and recognition committee members.  She announced the award for Classified Employee of the Year will be presented at the Faculty/Staff Social May 9th.  Many commented they liked this year's process for choosing the CSO of the year. To honor Vana Vernon for her past service to CSO and for serving as our first chair this past year, Dawn announced a crystal cardholder has been ordered and will be presented to Vana when it arrives. 

 

Also at the May 9th event,  longevity certificates will be presented:

 

         20 years:        Sonya Moss,  Vana Vernon

 

         15 years:       Ann Smith, Becky Grinolds, Carolyne Holbrook, Cindy Seidel,

Emmett Carter, John Kendall, John Murray, Karen Evans, Kenneth Powers, Nadine Walters, Peggy Craig, Willard Tribitt

 

         10 years:        Joan Bowen, Mary Browne

 

         5 years:         Sara Huffman Anne Storch, Bruce Lalonde, Robert Williams,

                           Tamara Normart, Sharon Auer, Dawn Byers, Linda Burnett

        

Winner's Choice Raffle

CSO raffle tickets are on sale until May 8th.  Gift certificates for $250, $150, and $100 will be given to the lucky winners.  Drawing will be held during the Faculty/Staff Social May 9th. 

 

Mark May 9th on your calendar and plan to attend the Faculty/Staff Social from 4 to 6 p.m.
