Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, December 8, 2004
Dawn welcomed everybody and invited all to dish up plates. Dawn called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.

The minutes were approved unanimously by the group.

Campus Overview Updates
Strategic Planning Report
Dawn distributed the document that was created by CSO representatives and that will be presented to the President in January. Please review it and let Dawn or Julie Crea know if you have any questions or concerns.
Accreditation Report and Visit
Dawn announced that the October Accreditation visit was successful and that we received glowing reports. She briefly addressed the commendation and recommendations. She stressed that the recommendations were to continue doing a great job.
Credit Load Maximum
Dawn has been working with the PSO Chair, Ken Clark, regarding talks of a Credit Load Maximum policy at LCSC. Both PSO and CSO members wish to have the policy remain as is without a maximum. Dawn indicated that the State may be reviewing the Idaho institutions in the future to develop a standard policy for all institutions, since every institution has varying policies on this.
Hiring Practices
Dawn explained that she is developing a subcommittee to address issues of standardizing the hiring practices at LCSC. Anybody wishing to join this committee, please let Dawn know.
Salary Compensation Committee
Dawn will be reactivating the Salary Compensation Committee in January. If you are a current member and do not wish to continue involvement on the committee, notify Dawn. If you are interested in joining the committee, let Dawn know.
Summer Hours feedback
The feedback from summer hours were positive and will most likely be implemented again next summer.
Holiday Schedule
Dawn was pleased to announce the holiday schedule. She went on to explain that campus will be closed December 24 31. Classified Staff will need to use two compensation days and two vacation days to get the entire week off.
Martin Luther King Human Rights Day
Dawn got approval from the group to donate $100 for Human Rights Day. She felt this was a worthy cause and a way to get CSO known to the community.
Employee Recognition Committee Update
Retirement of Pam Thornley
A card and $50 gift certificate to Joann Fabrics was presented to Pam.
Account Balance and Donations
Shannon Casteel reported that the account balance is approximately $1,400. CSO has donated $100 to Vana Vernon during the time that her husband was hospitalized. A donation of $50 was donated to Santas Helpers. Two bottles of champagne was donated to Winter Revels.
October Book Sales
The book sale generated approximately $300
Cookbook Sale
To date there have been 123 cookbooks sold and approximately a $400 profit.
Letters from Santa
Vikki reminded the group that the letters from Santa are available for request through December 15. The cost is $5/letter.
Professional Development Day
Patty Leonard announced that the third annual Professional Development day will be April 27. It will be held in conjunction with Administrative Professional Day at an off-campus site. Patty welcomes any ideas and new members.
By-Laws Committee
The members can expect to see the proposed amendments to the bi-laws to review prior to the next meeting in February, for they will be voted on at that time.
Holiday Party
Vikki gave a quick overview of the agenda for the Holiday party to be held on Friday, December 10th. She reminded the group that designated drivers would be available. The Quality Inn has also offered discount room for $60 that night.
New Classified Staff
Vikki announced the new classified staff members and introduced the ones that were present.
Department News
Folks were invited to share news about their departments.
