Dawn welcomed everybody and called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.

Campus Overview Updates
Accreditation Report
Dawn passed on Dr. Thomass thanks to everyone for their participation in the accreditation process. Lewis-Clark State College passed the accreditation visit with flying colors. Dawn indicated that the only recommendations were to continue doing a great job.
Hiring Practices Committee Report
Dawn shared the proposed policy with the group. She explained the main changes which are: 1) Classified position searches will be required to submit the Affirmative Action packet; and 2) Applicants must be hired off of the state employment register. The purpose for these changes is to have consistent and fair guidelines for hiring. Dawn asked that all read the proposed policy and e-mail her soon with any comments. Dawn will keep the group posted.
Meeting with President Thomas
Dawn shared that she had met with President Thomas and informed her of all the upcoming events (Professional Development Day & Recognition Luncheon). President Thomas pledged her support and will encourage attendance.
Thanks to Survey Participants
Dawn thanked all that took the time to complete the Faculty/Staff survey.
Election Committee for Officers
Elections for next years officers will take place at our April 13th meeting. Julie Crea will chair this committee. Please let Julie know if you are interested in running for a position or if you would like to serve on the committee.
Questionnaire about Fund Raising Activity
Polly Blasko asked Dawn to distribute the "LCSC Premiere Fund Raising Event Questionnaire." If you have ideas for special fund raising events for LCSC, please complete the form and return to Polly.
By-Laws Committee
Dawn reminded the group for the need to review/update the by-laws. The By-laws Committee made proposed changes, published them on the website, and asked all to review prior to this meeting. The proposed changes to the by-laws were voted on and approved unanimously by the group.
Employee Recognition Committee Update
Account Balance
Shannon Casteel reported that the account balance is approximately $937.74. Shannon indicated that since there are sufficient funds to pay for the April 13th Recognition Social, no more fund raising activities are planned at this time.

Please plan to attend the Recognition Social. It is to recognize and thank all of you for all that you do on a daily basis.
Dates for nomination and voting for Classified Employee of the Year
The web site will be accepting nominations for the Classified Employee of the Year during the dates of March 22 April 5. Voting by CSO members ONLY will be open April 7-20. Dawn announced that the recipient of this award will also get a free parking permit for next school year.
Professional Development Day
Patty Leonard announced that the third annual Professional Development day will be April 27. It will be held in conjunction with Administrative Professionals Day at the Quality Inn in Clarkston. The theme for this year is Bridges to Success: Keys to Positive Communication. Patty announced they have Debra Lybyer, Lisa Horan, and Brad Bramlet lined up as speakers. Watch for e-mails and fliers. Cost is $30/person for LCSC employees. The committee could use additional help if anybody is interested in joining, contact Patty.
New Classified Staff
Vikki announced the new classified staff members and introduced the ones that were present.
Department News
Folks were invited to share news about their departments.
