3.0 GOALS
3.1 To enhance a climate which demonstrates respect and care for all members of the college community by being responsive to issues and concerns of diversity.
3.2 To provide highly effective levels of recruitment, retention, and access for diverse students and populations who are historically underrepresented.
3.3 To enhance diverse student leadership on campus.
3.4 To actively recruit, hire, and retain diverse employees.
3.5 To increase the visibility of information on diversity in promotional literature.
3.6 To ensure that pedagogy in all curricular areas is sensitive to and appropriately addresses diverse student clienteles.
3.7 To ensure diversity in core and major program curricula.
3.8 To gather and generate data to gauge 1) attitudes of a diverse student body toward the college campus environment, and 2) attitudes of students, faculty, and staff toward issues regarding diversity.
3.9 To collaborate with other colleges, universities, K-12 educational institutions, outside agencies, and the community at-large in carrying out the broad goals of this diversity plan.
PROPOSED ACTION PLAN
3.1 To enhance a climate which demonstrates respect and care for all members of the college community by being responsive to issues and concerns of diversity.

3.2 To provide highly effective levels of recruitment, retention, and access for diverse students and populations who are historically underrepresented.
A. Mail informational programs on all college admissions, financial aid, and student support services to minority seniors in high schools region wide. Responsible Agent(s) Dean of Student Services
B. Recruitment of diverse students will be an ongoing goal of the institution. Creative methods including the use of diverse LCSC students clubs will be included in student recruitment efforts. E. Utilize diverse members of the Lewis-Clark State College community in recruitment efforts. While remaining conscientious of current responsibilities, ask diverse members to make telephone calls, host an office visit, or write follow-up letters to prospective students. F. Increase minority student enrollment and graduation rates to equal or exceed levels that reflect the minority subgroup populations of the northwestern U.S.A., with particular attention to the high Native American population in the area. Responsible Agent(s) Director of Enrollment Management
G. All faculty should take part in recruiting diverse students, including telephoning and hosting on campus visitations and letter writing. Responsible Agent(s) Provost Division Chairs Faculty
3.3 To enhance diverse student leadership on campus.
A. Recruit diverse students and faculty/staff advisors to become active in ASLCSC, student clubs and organizations. Responsible Agent(s) Director of Native American and Minority Student Services Dean of Student Services

A. Actively recruit diverse faculty and staff by identifying specific publications and/or agencies to advertise job announcements, specifically sending hard copy notices to all organizations active with diverse populations asking them to contact qualified applicants. 3.5 To increase the visibility of information on diversity in promotional literature.
A. The college will use and promote diversity with the encompassing vision statement found on page one of this document. The vision statement will be printed in its entirety in major publications such as the college catalog and on the college webpage. The concise vision statement listed below will be displayed in a prominent and aesthetically pleasing manner in the highest traffic area of each campus building. Responsible Agent(s) President

3.6 To ensure the pedagogy in all curricular areas is sensitive to and appropriately addresses diverse student clienteles.
A. Divisions and faculty members should develop pedagogical practices appropriate for their curricula and specific courses, and share their successes with each other at division meetings. Responsible Agent(s) Provost Division Chairs Faculty
