I've been in my current role as Program Advisor since late 2015. I wear many hats for the division and I love every minute! A major part of my job is advising RN-BSN, pre-nursing and pre-radiographic science students and helping them apply to our programs. I also meet with campus visitors and tour groups wanting to see our state-of-the-art learning labs. I'm heavily involved with marketing and recruitment as well as communications and outreach for the division. I maintain our division website and I've recently become the co-chair for the BSN Admissions, Advising and Progression Committee.
Outside of my job at LCSC, I'm a mom to 2 active boys and a wife of 15 years. I'm originally from the LC Valley and went to college at Washington State University and graduated with my BA in Hospitality Business Management in 2004. I am a lifelong Disney fan and spent my spring 2002 semester working at Walt Disney World on an internship with the Disney College Program. If you visit my office, you will see plenty of Disney Parks memorabilia and will probably hear disney music playing in the background.
Since 2013, my husband and I have been homestay parents to international students enrolled at LCSC. We really enjoy the diversity it brings to our lives and have made so many friends from around the world. Last year, I joined the advisory board for International Programs at LCSC and I'm excited to see this office flourish and continue to attract students from other countries. I think everyone should have some type of study/living abroad experience at least once in their life to be exposed to other cultures and ways of thinking.
