| Recently students have been calling in asking about the amount
of scrolling they have to do to view content pages in WebCT --
indcluding the getting started pages. When we make pages and when we
recommend page standards to faculty, we try to use a format that
will minimize scrolling to one vertical scroll per page and no
horizontal scrolling.
However, two settings on your home computer may affect your view of the page and how much you have to scroll. These are your desktop setting for your computer monitor and the View > Text size setting in your browser. Our pages are optimized for an 1028 by 724 pixel desktop and a medium text size. | These are extreme examples but you can see that with the
different views you're trading off ease of reading text with having
to scroll to read everything. Having this feature available is
especially important for your fellow students who are vision
impaired. You can adjust your text size in your browser with the view menu:
Please refer to your system help for guidance in setting your desktop size. One thing you'll find is that your view can grow or shrink if you hold down the control button and scroll your mouse wheel...try it, it's cool... |
