COURSE SUMMARY for MATH 157-60 – FALL 2012
Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers I is
the first of a two-part series designed to meet the educational needs of
prospective K-8 teachers and those professionals who need mathematics for
certification from an accredited college, professional development or continuing
education. Emphasis is placed on strategies for problem solving and the teaching
of fundamental skills. Topics include problem solving, numeration systems, whole
numbers and operations, number theory, integers, rational numbers, percents, and
proportions.
