Course Description: |
This seminar
is usually taken a semester prior to the candidate's
internship experience and is intended in part to help
prepare the candidate for that internship. The seminar
focuses on 1) helping the candidate to gain familiarity with
sound classroom management principles, 2) begin compellation
of a professional portfolio, 3) complete a Content Knowledge
Folio demonstrating the candidate's ability to meet state
standards for teaching in the targeted discipline, 4)
identify and gain permission to intern at a specific site,
and 5) in preparation for the internship collect information
about the site as demonstrated in a Demographic Essay. There
are also opportunities to discuss contemporary issues and
events in the field of Education.
Prerequisite:
The candidate
must be provisionally or fully admitted to the LCSC Teacher
Education Program. |
