To provide
the student with a basic understanding of the work of health care from
the economic and financial point of view. Among other things, the
student will gain an understanding of the business and financial
environments in which health care finds itself; general accounting, cost
and financial statements; diagnostic related groups; the managed care
environments; staffing patterns, and the use of financial information in
the decision-making process. Prerequisites:
Admission to the BSN Program and completion of all prior nursing and
support courses. Co-requisites: NU 471, NU 472, NU 483, PSYC 385, Core 350
or 351. |
