This BbCE course, intended for parents,
teachers, home schoolers, coordinators and supervisors of
gifted/talented learners, is activity-based and designed to be completed
at your own pace on an individual study basis. The course will
help familiarize you with the apparently contradictory yet complimentary
concepts of meritocracy, elitism, and equalitarianism. Your efforts
will be directed toward the completion of a research paper in which you
attempt to synthesized these concepts together with an exposition of
your personal beliefs and values regarding gifted/talented education.
The course is intended to be informative and to stretch your thinking in
the tradition of creativity and critical thinking associated with
gifted/talented education. Pre/Co-requisites: EDGT 410, 420 and
440. |
