Netiquette

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

— Remember, everyone is here to learn.  Do your best to contribute to a positive learning environment, the experience will be much more rewarding.

Check your spelling, grammar, and punctuations.

— Remember, you are registered in a college course.   Avoid abbreviations and texting type language.  Use spell check to help proof your writing and re-read everything before you post for errors.

Be clear and concise.

Say what you need to say in the most efficient manner possible.

Avoid using ALL CAPS and excessive exclamation points!!!

People can perceive this behavior as yelling and it can distract from what you are trying to say.

Think before you write.  Your online words are permanent.

Review the first four rules of netiquette before posting.

Stay out of online arguments - some things are better communicated in person.

— If you are unable to resolve an argument on your own, it is a good idea to contact your instructor to request mediation to prevent further escalation.
