The Nonviolent Social Change Action Committee (NSCAC) is a
relatively new PsySR committee that was established in early
2000.  The expanding membership is currently working to
accomplish two goals.  These goals include:
(1)  building a directory of activists who have been involved nonviolent
social change and who would be willing to advise and assist
others in developing applications of nonviolent means of social
        change to new issues, and
(2)  developing a series of briefs on the psychology of nonviolence which
would be useful to individuals who are planning to participate
        in nonviolent social change activities.

At present, we are working on case studies with colleagues who are
examining psychological constructs that undergird nonviolent social
change in various parts of the world including Burma, Cambodia,
East Timor, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines, South Africa, and
      the United States.
