- A rational statement that supports the use of nonviolence

as the method as the method of choice in achieving political change -

In 2000 the NSCAC developed a brief statement on the psychology of
nonviolence to assist planners of demonstration against the World Bank and
International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.  This brief may be found on
this website below.  This brief is only a first step in accomplishing
NSCAC's  second goal.

While the breadth of our mission is yet to be determined by our growing
membership, two major activities will be undertaken this year.  First,
we wish to increase our network of scholars and practitioners who seek to
promote social justice in nonviolent ways.  Second, we wish to develop
a series of brief papers on the psychology of nonviolence which would
be useful to individuals who are planning participate in nonviolent
social change activities.
