PACE Elementary Teacher Education

Admission Procedure

Step 1 - Transcript Evaluation

Complete a Request For Transfer Credit Evaluation. Send it together with transcripts (unofficial are okay if legible) from all institutions of higher education attended and a check payable to LCSC in the amount of $35.00 to the address on the form. If you decide to affiliate with the LCSC Teacher Education Program, $30.00 of the $35.00 will be credited to the Teacher Education Program application fee.

You will receive a Program Evaluation Report from the PACE Program Assistant and an advising follow-up from the PACE Elementary Coordinator. The report will list all courses for which you can be given credit and the courses you need to complete as an undergraduate or graduate candidate.

If you decide PACE can help you achieve your career goals, then you can proceed to Step 2 below.

Step 2 - Admission to Lewis-Clark State College

Apply to be admitted to Lewis-Clark State College; visit the LCSC Admissions web site and submit to the Office of Admissions official transcripts from all universities or colleges attended. Once you have received your admittance correspondence from the Office of Admissions, proceed to step 3. If you have any admission questions, please contact the Office of Admissions directly (208-792-2210).

You can view your application status (documents received, test scores, etc.), search for classes and more by visiting WarriorWeb.

Step 3 - Complete Academic Program Information & Change of Advisor Form (PIF)

The PIF should be completed as soon as you receive your admittance correspondence from the Office of Admissions.

Visit the LCSC Registrar's Forms web page and download the Program Information Form (PIF) for the Education Division.

After you print the "Academic Program Information & Change of Advisor Form", please complete the upper portion with your name, SSN/ID number, and address. You will need to check the box by "First time declaration advisor" (write in Dr. David Massaro). Under the "Check the Major/Catalog Year You Are Declaring" check the box by either 305 Elementary Education (BA/BS) if you are an undergraduate or 316 Elementary Education Certificate (PB) if you already have a baccalaureate degree. Please sign and date the form and fax it to the attention of "PACE Program Assistant" (208-792-2820); she will obtain the other signatures and send it to the Registrar's Office for you.

When your PIF has been processed by the Education Division, the PACE Program Assistant will email you with instructions to access the Electronic On-Line Teacher Education Program Application site where an account will have been established for you. FYI: this account is not available until after your PIF has been processed.

Step 4 - Apply to the Teacher Education Program and send your Official Transcripts to the Education Division

Students seeking admission to the Teacher Education Program must comply with admission requirements as stated in the current catalog. Teacher Education Program requirements may change to comply with accreditation requirements, professional certification requirements, etc. Students may be required to meet college graduation requirements under a different catalog than that used to obtain admission to the Teacher Education Program.

Complete the electronic online Teacher Education Program Application. Login and follow the instructions in the online application.

Submit to the Division of Education official transcripts from all universities or colleges attended; these are in addition to the official transcripts provided to LCSC Admissions.

Step 5 - Access Information and Register for Online Courses

Visit the LCSC WarriorWeb web site for PACE courses offered via distance learning (section numbers beginning with P). You may enroll in the required courses on your program plan. Contact the PACE Elementary Coordinator with an email of the courses in which you plan to enroll to obtain electronic clearance to register.

Feel free to contact the PACE Program Assistant if she can provide additional information or answer questions for you (see contact information on the left).
